Our House and Pet Sitting Experience

We have shining house sitting references that have touched us deeply and are much appreciated. We have collected quite a bundle now!

We realise it is a daunting task to pick someone to care for your home but we hope they can show you we are experienced house sitters who are honest, reliable and careful.

We won't publish our referees details online so please contact us to arrange an interview and we will provide you with a copy of our references. We hope that you will at least match or even better them upon your return!

We have just returned from a two year house sitting tour of Australia, and caretaking the cricket clubrooms where Todd was playing in Canada.

This is a quick rundown of our housesitting experiences the first time we house sat in Australia or 7 months:

Well we have just concluded our latest 7 month house sitting tour of Australia, and what an adventure it has been! We have had the absolute pleasure of looking after some of the most personality packed cats and dogs you could ever wish to meet.

Home Safe Sitters Available for Pet Sitting in Christchurch, New ZealandPacific Pines, Gold Coast: First stop was a very comfortable and stylish home located in Pacific Pines on the Gold Coast of Australia. We looked after a gorgeous Siamese who followed us around telling us all sort of wonderful stories. He enjoyed walks outside on his lead 2-3 times a day and resided on our laps for the rest. He really was a pleasure to look after.

Clayfield, Brisbane: Next we enjoyed a few days (not long enough) looking after two personality packed Devon Rexes in Clayfield, close to the centre of Brisbane. We'd never met Devon Rexes before so weren't sure what to expect.

These delightful cats turned out to be the most entertainment you could ever expect in a pet, there was never a dull moment. I could go on for hours about their antics, but there simply isn't space! Needless to say, we wouldn't hesitate to take care of these gorgeous cats if ever the need should arise.

Logan, Brisbane: Next we were off to Logan to take care of an aging moggy, who in his Mum's own words was 'difficult' boy. It was a nightmare for her to find someone to take care of him. His sister (part persian, part rag doll) was anybodies, so no trouble whatsoever. We Are Available for Pet Sitting Christchurch, New Zealand

It did take me a few days to win him over, but all that sitting up in bed feeding him chicken and marmite buttered English muffins paid off, and in this first 10 day sit, he warmed to me, and I felt the exact same about him. I looked forward to seeing him again as we were booked for a longer sit at the end of the year.

Joondalup, Perth: Our next sit was looking after two Maltese Cross dogs in Perth. They were two of the most fun doggies to take care of, they never let us get bored! We spent hours taking turns throwing the 'bally' so they would run into the next lounge and leap over the couch to get it. Many more were spent exploring the beautiful tracks and admiring the spring flowers in the area. A very pleasant stay with two personality packed doggies.

Canberra: After a long flight, next stop was Canberra. A comfortable home overlooking large, inviting parks in which to walk a lovely Border Collie who we were next to meet. A gorgeous boy with different coloured and very human eyes. There was much exploring to do of the long winding tracks in the area that went for miles, and he certainly wasn't complaining! A fantastic way to see more of the area.

It took him much less time to settle down, and he seemed to be as close to me as he was the first time. I felt quite honoured, as Mum had said he really didn't like anyone but her and her daughter, and was shocked to see how much he had warmed to me. All that sitting up armed with chicken and muffins (his favourite) had paid off!

Redcliffs, Christchurch, New Zealand: Our final stop of this leg was back home for Christmas. Redcliffs is a beautiful suburb located on the Port Hills, overlooking our beautiful city. We were looking after two doggies with distinctly different temperaments who were so much fun. Many more hours were spent exploring the grasslands and tracks at the base of the hills that border our city.

So nice to be away, but great to be home again!

We have many more sits under our belt complete with references, so please feel free to contact us, and we will relate our stories to you in person. We are also looking forward to hearing your travel stories too!
